Membership

The Music Teachers National Association offers a networking system for teachers and
college students to keep them informed and up-to-date on techniques used by the
most revered educators in the profession.

Active membership is open to all interested music teachers. This membership
provides privileges of participation in the activities of the organization, holding office,
and voting. Student membership is open to any bona fide college student of music.
Student members may attend all program meetings of the organization but do not
have the privilege of voting or holding office. Honorary membership will be
determined by the Executive Committee.

American Music Teacher magazine, with articles on pedagogical approaches,
coping with today's students, and relevant news from around the nation.

Students of teachers who are MAMTA members are entitled to participate in these
events:
  •        District Auditions - October
  •        State Honors Auditions - November
  •        Multi-Piano Concert - to be announced
  •        Holiday Music in the Mall - December
  •        Piano Concerto Competition - February
  •        Music Fair - March
  •        Music Progressions - a comprehensive musicianship program - April
  •        Konza Opus 8 (Composition Festival) - May
